A main objective of the Manitoba Association of School Psychologists (MASP) is to encourage and provide for professional growth and continuing education among members of the Association. Professional development, called PD or Pro-D in other settings, is a critical component to maintaining and enhancing our competencies as School Psychologists. Using connection to support youth experiencing grief, trauma and loss.
Dr. Jody Carrington has spent most of her career working with children and families who have experienced trauma. Dr. Carrington worked on the Mental Health Inpatient Units of the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary for 10 years. She also has extensive experience providing workshops to school communities. She will speak to the power of relationships and share practical strategies that are critical in assisting children to be available and competent learners.
